The hardworking North American beaver is the largest rodent on the continent. The beaver anatomy puzzle features this quintessential mammal. The beaver is well known to children and most are familiar with the dams, the large slapping tail and the large front teeth that make quick work of trees.

The North American beaver is a mammal that can be found in multiple habitats ranging from ponds, lakes and rivers, to marshes and streams. They are found throughout North America in these varying ecosystems, except the deserts of California and Nevada and parts of Utah and Arizona. Although nearly trapped to extinction during the fur trade, the beaver population is not considered a threatened species today.

Features

This beaver puzzle features the mammal busy with several typical tasks – chopping down trees and carrying the branches to the dam. Footprints depict the webbed hind feet and digitated front feet.

The orange front incisors are the sharp chiselling tool beavers use to work their magic on trees.

The puzzle is cut into 9 knobbed parts ranging from the head and tail, front and hind feet and the body parts into 5 sections.
